Greek Minister of Justice Konstantinos Tsiaras approved the extradition of Russian citizen Alexander Vinnik who is accused of laundering at least $ 4 billion through the BTC-e exchange to France. The fact of extradition was confirmed by Alexander’s lawyer Timofei Musatov, reports RBC.

He stressed that such a decision was made despite the expiration of the French extradition order. At the moment lawyers are preparing to appeal such a decision.

“Since the decision was made on Friday, and the timeframe for appeal is 24 hours, and the defense has not yet received the documents, and the courts are not working on Saturday, we can see that we are being prevented from appealing in this way. Now we will see how this legal problem can be solved,” said Musatov.

Vinnik himself again went on a hunger strike due to an unfair, in his opinion, court decision.

Earlier the court has satisfied the requests for the extradition of Vinnik of three countries at once – the United States, Russia, and France.
